Square Area Rugs

Square area rugs are just about my favorite type of rugs. Sure there are oval rugs then there are round rugs and there are even triangle rugs, but for me a rug is just not a rug unless it is square. Call me old-fashioned but I just don’t care!

Don’t get me wrong, oval area rugs are nice and all, they just don’t compare in my mind to a good solid Square area rug. And so I’ve dedicated this entire web page to help you find the very best square rug to fit your home to the T. Oh yes, we’re going to find some rugs today!

There are many different sizes when it comes to Square area rugs. Some of the more common sizes include; 3 x 5, 4 x 6, 5 x 8, 6 x 9, 7 x 9, 10 x 14, and my favorite 9 x 12. The size of rugs that you choose will be determined solely and completely by the area or should I say the size of the specific room where you will be putting it. People sometimes ask me whether they should place two smaller rugs in a room or one large rug. Personally I like one large rug as it seems to be slightly more elegant but this, of course, depends completely on your own personal preference.

In my mind you have to have a square area rug for a square room. You can’t stick an old oval rug in a square room just like you shouldn’t stick a square area rug in a round room. You’ll get nauseous! Well maybe not, but you might!

There are many different themes and styles to choose from, and picking the right one is essential. There are braided rugs, there are shag rugs, there are traditional rugs… and there are many others in between. Once again this is going to depend an awful lot on your own personal preference. The style you choose should also try to mimic the look and feel of the room as a whole and blend in with the furniture that you have in place already. You don’t want ultra-traditional furniture and an ultra modern rug, they would clash and the room would feel off. On the other hand, you don’t want ultra-modern furniture with a traditional old-style carpet… you get the idea.
