Finding the right rug for your home is incredibly important. Rugs are just as important as any other piece of furniture and sometimes they’re even more important than furniture because a rug ties the room together like nothing else can. They whisper elegance and sophistication, and scream comfort and warmth. They liven up a room in amazing ways, some have even gone so far as to call them the soul of a room.
On this page I’m going to discuss oval area rugs because many times they get overlooked by other websites and I think that is a crying shame, so I’ve decided to devote an entire page to discuss them in great detail for you today. So if you are looking for an oval area rug, you’ve definitely come to the right place.
Oval Area Rugs come in many different shapes and sizes. Okay you caught me on that one, they don’t actually come in different shapes… they’re all oval! But an oval is not always quite an oval if you know what I mean. For instance, a shag oval carpet such as the chenille green shag 5 foot oval rug starts out oval but over time sort of, I don’t want to say it loses its shape, but you know what I mean. I don’t mean to single out that specific rug; at around $70 it’s quite a deal, but I just find that shag rugs in general tend to shape shift a bit over time.
One popular style is the hand tufted circle of leaves wall rug. This rug costs nearly $300 but may well be worth the money if your taste runs in this direction. This is a contemporary wool rug in his hand tufted of 100% wool and feature shades of gold, beige, and brown that are particularly stunning to look at. It contains patterns that are geometric in nature and the primary coloring is gold. At .625 inches thick, this is quite a rug for any home.
One cool rug that I like is the handwoven khaki Sisal wool rug. This 8 foot round oval rug will cost you around $100 and really accents any home decor. It is handwoven of sisal wool that features a flat weave and a contemporary khaki color. It contains a cotton border and rubber backing and its primary color is a sort of beige.
Another popular style is the contemporary handmade Alpen rug, which is around 8 foot in diameter and handwoven of natural tan with your choice of a border color. Border colors include green, black, gray, red, yellow, and orange; which means you can mix and match this rug in almost any room. At about $130 this rug will fit any budget.
Personally I’ve always favored handwoven braided natural jute rugs. At around $90 you can’t hardly go wrong with these durable, and natural looking rugs. They generally come in a bleached natural jute color or hue with an elegant traditional braided design. They are handwoven, as I said, of 100% jute wool and are generally around .75 inches thick.
Along the same lines is the handwoven multi-jute rug which is a great addition to any bedroom, living room, or dining room with its simple braided jute style it make a great accent rugs. These rugs generally run around $60 which makes them incredibly economical.
